The Los Angeles County Fire Department will begin its annual defensible space inspections on May 1 as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce wildfire risk.
Earlier this year, required property owners received notices to complete annual brush clearance and create defensible space around their homes. If you received this letter and have not yet completed your required brush clearance, we encourage you to take care of it promptly.
During inspections, properties found to have hazardous fire conditions will receive an Official Inspection Report outlining violations, required corrections, and a compliance deadline.
Maintaining proper defensible space is a critical step in protecting homes, neighborhoods, and first responders during wildfire season.
