
The City Council is pleased to share an important update regarding our community’s trash hauling services. With the current agreement set to expire at the end of December 2025, the City Council’s Ad Hoc Committee on Trash Hauling conducted a full bid process and worked extensively with Waste Management to negotiate a new Franchise Agreement tailored to the unique needs of Hidden Hills.
This new agreement not only ensures competitive service levels but also provides cost stability, environmental compliance, and enhanced customer service for all residents. One of the most significant outcomes of these negotiations is a reduction in the cost of Residential Basic Service for every homeowner.
Beginning January 1, 2026, the monthly Basic Service Rate will decrease to $90 per household. Looking ahead, starting January 1, 2027, annual rate increases will be capped at just $1.50 per year. This predictable cap offers financial certainty for residents and safeguards against sudden rate spikes, while still allowing the hauler to cover reasonable service costs.
