As part of the Las Virgenes–Malibu Council of Governments’ (LVMCOG) regional Fiber Optic Project, construction begins July 20, 2026, in Hidden Hills. This project includes more than 38 miles of high-capacity fiber infrastructure across Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Malibu, Agoura Hills, and Westlake Village — one of the most significant broadband infrastructure investments in the region’s history. Once construction is complete, the COG plans to contract with a private provider to expand fiber service throughout Hidden Hills for residents.

Work will begin at the Community Center and proceed along Long Valley Road toward Spring Valley Road, expected to take approximately 2–3 weeks. A separate portion of work will take place near the corner of John Colter Road and Round Meadow Road, continuing toward the guard shack, expected to take approximately 1.5 weeks.

Gate access will not be affected or restricted, and no alternate routes will be needed. Work will take place primarily within parkway areas, with traffic control managed per established standards. Construction will be scheduled to avoid peak traffic periods and minimize disruption to residents.
